1. Customer’s asset safe keeping retention period
Digital asset business operator is not a financial institutions according to the Deposit Protection Agency (DPA) Act. Monetary and digital assets deposits with digital asset operator are not deposits protected under the DPA. In the event of damage to the assets of customer deposited with digital asset operators, customer may not immediately receive the entire assets from digital asset business operator.
2. Assessing the strength of digital asset business operator
Customers can check the financial status of digital asset business operator from the financial statements and operating results of digital asset business operator published on the business operator's website. Additionally, other information such as the quality of service and complaint management should also be considered before deciding to use the service of digital asset business operator.
3. Risk management of service customer
Customers may manage risks relating to the safe keeping of digital assets by depositing digital assets with digital asset operators in a sufficient amount for such transaction. While the rest of digital assets that is not needed for such transaction may be kept at customer’s own digital asset wallet (wallet). Before transferring or executing a transaction, customers should study how to use each type of wallet and how to safe keep private key or password.
